Summers aren’t all that pleasing. Of course not. Very much of a Winter soul, the only reason I like summers, is because the weather allows you to wear the best of the colors while you soak under the sun on the beach, in that bright patterned swimsuit and big sunnies, with a Margarita next to you and happy thoughts floating in your mind. So, here is a list of songs that might make this summer a little more easy.
1. Gabrielle Aplin – Please Don’t Say You Love Me (Cyril Hahn Remix)
2. Susie Suh – In The Moonlight
3. Honne – Didn’t I
4. Darondo – Didn’t I (DnB bootleg)
5. Lane 8 – How I Feel
6. Indian Summer ft. Shaqdi – Loveweights (Plastic Plates Remix)
7. Bob Marley – I Wanna Love You
8. Show Me Love (EDX’s Indian Summer Remix) – Sam Feldt
9. RHCP – Snow (Lost Frequencies Remix)
10. BANKS – Beggin For Thread (Gryffin & Hotel Garuda Remix)
11. Bob Marley – Is This Love (Montmartre Remix)
Presenting a new collaboration with People, via POPxo. People, a brand under Madura Garments, is very much inspired by global colours, customs, and celebrations, and complements a modern global outlook. Decided to visit the store for a Collection review. Prints being the highlight of their Spring Summer 2015 Collection, it’s filled with these bright beautiful prints and patterns that clearly portray the summer mood. Not a big fan of colors, and someone who only looks at Blacks/Greys/Whites while shopping, it was surprising how quite a few pieces managed to grab my attention and led me to go take a closer look at the fabrics and the prints. The collection entails of a variety of products, from Denims, Dungarees, Shorts, Kaftan Dresses, Tops, T shirts, to Tunics, Bags, Skirts and a lot more. The fabrics used are just apt for this weather and there are quite a few silhouettes, cuts and textures that create this functional yet fun summer wardrobe. A Summer Mocktail, we could call it.
This Kaftan Dress is my favorite pick from the collection. The colors, the print, and the fabric, all of it makes it a perfect number for the little beach picture that I painted earlier. Created a few more looks, to show how broad the product range of this collection is.
The Maroon-ish Midi dress with the intricate patterns on the neck, chest and the border, is a must have for summers. Get into it, slip in your slip ons and tie your hair up in a bun. Perfect for a small summer get together I say. The Dungarees with petite vines all over it that clearly scream comfort, can be paired with a basic t shirt, just like I wore it, or a crop top.
A self proclaimed Queen of Slouchy Clothing, I just had to try this White and Blue Printed Tunic, and take a nice long walk all around the store. A slight change in the accessories and this one piece can accompany you from a warm morning to the breezy evening, on a summer day. It might take you a few minutes to take a look at the Denim section, which, yes, is very unusual for a single collection. These denims I picked are slightly distressed with this light wash, and the fit is just right. Paired it with this light yellow Ombre Top, while I made another pleasing discovery, that yellow doesn’t look all that bad on me.
Putting on show the latest trends like Wordplay, Nouveau Tribal, Retro Beach, there is wide array of prints available on all kinds of clothing items. A mash up of Florals, Stripes, Alphabetical Prints, Bugs and Vines, People’s Spring Summer 2015 Collection is worth taking a look at.
